You Don’t Know Me by Michael Buble gives the impression of looking on at a pair of lovers but being removed from them. He sings about the longing of being separated and wishing to be one of the people in the relationship. This is very similar to how Sappho looks on at a pair of lovers in poem 31, wishing to be the man in the pair.

You give your hand to me
Then you say hello
I can hardly speak
My heart is beating so
And anyone can tell
You think you know me well
But you don’t know me
No, you don’t know the one
Who dreams of you at night
And longs to kiss your lips
And longs to hold you tight
Oh I’m just a friend
That’s all I’ve ever been
‘Cause you don’t know me
I never knew
The art of making love
Though my heart aches
With love for you
Afraid and shy
I’ve let my chance to go by
The chance that you might
Love me, too
You give your hand to me
And then you say good-bye
I watch you walk away
Beside the lucky guy
You’ll never never know
The one who loves you so
Well, you don’t know me
You give your hand to me, baby
Then you say good-bye
I watch you walk away
Beside the lucky guy
No, no, you’ll never ever know
The one who loves you so
Well, you don’t know me

Like Meleager this song describes that they know that person the like is bad for them, but they can’t help but love them.

Don’t worry about me, don’t worry about you
Cuz everything you do, boy I’ve done too
Don’t worry about me, don’t worry about you
Cuz everything you do, boy I’ve done too
A little bit of Heaven, and a little bit of Hell
You know the words to say and you say it well
I know your little secret, I know your little lie
So go on tell me I’ll believe your alibi.
You set the stage and you’re playing a part,
But I’ve always known who you really are.
So intellectual
Chorus:
You’re no good
You’re no good
You’re no good
Baby, you’re no good
I’m gonna say it again
You’re no good
You’re no good
You’re no good
Baby, you’re no good, but I like it
A little bit of torture, a little bit of peace
And your demeanor covers your real need
I hear your little whisper, I hear your little sigh
But are you bored with all those social butterflies
I’ll give my life, just lay in the dark
Cuz I’ve always known who you really are
So intellectual
You’re no good
You’re no good
You’re no good
Baby, you’re no good
I’m gonna say it again
You’re no good
You’re no good
You’re no good
Baby, you’re no good, but I like it
I know it’s wrong, it feels so right
This candle burns without a light
The fire feeds my hunger for your open door
And just a little more
You’re no good
You’re no good
You’re no good
Baby, you’re no good
I’m gonna say it again
You’re no good
You’re no good
You’re no good
Baby, you’re no good, but I like it
